Academic Leadership Team

International Baccalaureate

We champion the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, offering a world-class, comprehensive education. Globally recognised and extremely well-respected by universities, the IB is a broad and well-rounded programme that combines academic rigour with personal growth, better preparing students for university and beyond.

In the Senior Years, we offer the IB Middle Years Programme from Years 7 to 9, GCSE courses in Years 10 to 11, and the IB Diploma Programme or Career-related Programme in the Sixth Form, ensuring a tailored, continuous pathway to success for every student.

A World of Opportunities
St Leonards offers a world of opportunities, combining enriching academics with a broad spectrum of co-curricular activities. From the comprehensive support for learning to the vast resources of Queen Mary’s Library, we prepare pupils for life.
  • Co-Curricular

We provide a range of co-curricular activities aimed at enabling our pupils to uncover new talents and interests and develop those that exist already.
From water sports to orchestra, from Mandarin to Scottish Country Dancing and a variety of sports, there is something for everyone.

  • Support & Wellbeing

At St Leonards, we blend expert support for specific learning needs, such as Dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, and ASD, with the nurturing environment of our Wellbeing Hub. This ensures every student feels confident in seeking out assistance, advice, and support. Our commitment to both academic success and emotional wellbeing fosters a community where students can thrive, feeling happy, supported, and prepared for their future.

  • Queen Mary’s Library

Queen Mary’s Library is central to teaching and learning in the Senior School, and provides a wide range of resources to support the curriculum, as well as a comfortable space for independent and group study, teaching, revision and reading.

  • Community Spirit

St Leonards fosters inclusivity and life skills through community-focused activities and the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

  • Life Beyond St Leonards

St Leonards Seniors are the former pupils of St Leonards and are an important part of the School’s extended family.
