St Leonards School is celebrating another excellent set of International Baccalaureate (IB) results, with pupils in the Class of 2026 achieving outstanding success across both the Diploma Programme (IBDP) and Career-related Programme (IBCP).

The result is the School’s second-highest average on record and is equivalent to approximately three A grades at A Level. The results reflect the commitment, ambition and resilience shown by pupils throughout their studies and continue St Leonards’ long-standing tradition of academic excellence. Graduates will now progress to leading universities in Scotland, across the UK and internationally, including the London School of Economics, the University of St Andrews, the University of Edinburgh, University College London, and institutions in the USA, Canada, the Netherlands and Spain, where they will study subjects ranging from Aerospace Engineering to Fashion Design.

Head, Simon Brian, praised the achievements of the Class of 2026.

“We are delighted that our leavers are heading to leading universities in Scotland, the rest of the UK. They leave St Leonards with some of our highest International Baccalaureate results on record achieving an average equivalent to three A grades at A Level. Equally importantly, they depart with the skills and attributes needed to genuinely flourish at university and in life beyond.

“We are also hugely proud of our Career-related programme leavers, half of whom are heading to top colleges in the United States on golf scholarships.”

Deputy Head Academic, Will Gaisford, said the results demonstrate both academic excellence and the breadth of an IB education.

“We are immensely proud of our leavers who scored a record 88% of Higher Level grades at 7-5. Both of our leading International Baccalaureate pathways in our Sixth Form provide intellectual rigour, critical thinking and a genuinely global perspective needed to thrive in a competitive world.”

As Scotland’s only school to offer the full International Baccalaureate continuum from ages 4 to 18, St Leonards continues to prepare young people for success in higher education and beyond. Through its internationally recognised curriculum, pupils develop the academic knowledge, independence and global outlook needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Congratulations to the St Leonards Class of 2026 on an outstanding set of International Baccalaureate results.
