Award-winning dining at St Leonards
Our boys and girls are encouraged to recognise the importance of a healthy lifestyle. They receive nutritious meals and snacks in Restaurant 1877, which is managed by Mr Darren Tonge, Catering Manager with Thomas Franks, who provide the catering service at St Leonards. Restaurant 1877, our dining room, is named in recognition of the year St Leonards was founded.
Darren and his team pride themselves on providing healthy and varied menu options daily and on cooking with locally-sourced produce in order to reduce food miles and celebrate seasonality. Thomas Franks also host special events and themed days to showcase specific ingredients and cuisines, from BBQ to butternut squash!
A wide selection of hot and cold foods are provided on a daily basis and special dietary requirements can be catered for. Feedback is always encouraged and welcomed at St Leonards. Pupils and parents can make comments by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A place to relax and socialise
Boarding pupils have breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, supper and, at the weekends, brunch in the Restaurant. Weekend breakfasts are provided in the boarding house. Day pupils have their morning snack and lunch in the Restaurant. Junior pupils have a morning snack and lunch, and those staying on for activities have the option of an afternoon snack, too.
We want our pupils to be healthy, not just of body, but of mind too. In Restaurant 1877, pupils enjoy a wider range of meal options than ever before, including meat, fish and vegetarian meals, daily pasta options, baked potatoes and sweet potatoes, soup, fresh fruit and a well-stocked salad bar.
