Purpose built, our Music School has a concert auditorium, nine teaching/practice rooms and two full-sized classrooms. The building features work stations with the most up-to-date computers and software, providing opportunities for innovative composition and performance.
If you have a musical interest, you have an outlet for it at St Leonards. The School has several choirs, orchestras, brass groups, string ensembles, a wind band, pipe band and flute ensemble. These are all growing in size as more and more pupils opt to learn instruments.
Performances
Those who want to perform have plenty opportunity. Informal Concerts are held at the Junior School twice every term and all pupils have the chance to perform in them in front of pupils and parents. The Senior School has staged 35 concerts in the past academic year. Performances ranged from concerts devoted to string and brass instruments, to orchestral and Year group specific events. St Leonards ensembles perform away from the School too. For instance, our jazz band and choirs have regularly been invited to be provide contributions to community events. The Junior School Choir enjoyed the privilege of performing at the televised St Andrews celebrations in honour of the wedding of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
