St Leonards Joining Information

Key information for new families joining in the 2026-2027 academic year.

Head’s Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians,

For those of you joining us for the first time, I would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to the St Leonards community. We are thrilled that your child will be joining us this summer.

St Leonards is a truly exceptional place to live and learn. We are an inclusive and globally minded school with a firm nod to both the traditional and progressive, where high academic ambition, exciting co-curricular opportunities and outstanding pastoral care can be found across the School. In line with our motto, your child will be encouraged to develop into a confident, caring and competent individual, ready to face the challenges and opportunities life may bring – prepared Ad Vitam, for life.

This page contains a wealth of useful guidance for new families, helping you prepare for this exciting next chapter, from bus routes to uniform lists. Please take some time to read through the information and, as ever, if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact the Admissions Team or the relevant Head of Year.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child to St Leonards this term.

With best wishes,

Simon Brian

Head of St Leonards

Please select the area(s) most relevant to your child for detailed guidance, useful documents, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Information for All Families

Key documents, practical information and useful resources for families joining St Leonards.

Practical Information
  • When should I complete my joining forms?

Once your place has been confirmed, an account on our Parent Portal, Engage, will be created for you and login details will be sent separately.

It is important that these forms are completed by Monday, 17 August before your child joins the School.

  • Where can I purchase my school uniform?

Our uniform supplier is Stevensons, whose nearest branch is in Perth. We recommend booking an appointment in advance.

Stevensons will be available on Sunday, 23 August at the School from 11am to 2pm.

  • How can I purchase a second hand uniform?

Yes. The St Leonards Second Hand Uniform Shop is located in the blue building opposite St Rule boarding house. It is run by dedicated parent volunteers and opens on selected dates throughout the year. Information about opening times is shared in parent communications.

For more information, please contact shu@stleonards-fife.org.

  • What are the requirements for school coats?

Coats worn at St Leonards should be plain and in a neutral colour, with no large or brightly coloured logos. They should be worn over a blazer or Sixth Form suit jacket, not instead of one.

Coats should be removed when entering school buildings and stored in lockers whenever possible. All coats should be of a smart style and appropriate for a school environment.

The School reserves the right to determine whether a coat is suitable. If you have any questions before making a purchase, please contact schooloffice@stleonards-fife.org.

  • How can I pay school fees?

School fee invoices are issued each term through the Engage Parent Portal. Login details and instructions will be provided when you join the School.

Paying from an international bank account
Families paying from an overseas bank account can pay by bank transfer or cheque.

If you have any questions about school fees or payment methods, please contact the Finance Team at fees@stleonards-fife.org.

Paying from a UK bank account
Direct debit is our preferred payment method for UK bank accounts. You can download the Direct Debit Mandate form below to set up your payments.

  • Where can I find information on Fee Protection Insurance

Fee Protection Insurance helps protect families against the financial impact of unexpected circumstances if your child is absent from school for an extended period. We work with Marsh, who provide cover for pupil absence and personal belongings.

  • Where can I find information about fee security?

The security of your information and fee payments is important to us. Please read our guidance on protecting yourself from fraudulent emails and payment scams.

  • How do I arrange school transport for my child?.

There are just under 400 day pupils at St Leonards, many of whom make use of our dedicated day bus service to travel to and from St Andrews.

Our school buses are operated by St Andrews Executive Travel in partnership with Zeelo, the online travel booking service. Zeelo provides a mobile app for live bus tracking, as well as online ticketing options from flexi-bundles to termly passes and single or return journeys.

Four bus routes are available, covering Kirkcaldy, the East Neuk of Fife, Perth and Dundee, and Auchtermuchty and Cupar.

  • Is there an age limit for the school bus?

Not at all. Pupils from Kindergarten to Year 13 regularly use the school bus. Junior School pupils are accompanied to and from the bus by a member of staff at the start and end of the school day.

School Information
Programmes & Activities
  • Where can I find out more about the Golf Academy?

Our Golf Academy webpage provides an overview of the programme, including its eight development tiers and player pathway.

Families interested in joining the Golf Academy will receive a separate email later this summer with further information and registration details.

  • Is there an age limit for the Golf Academy?

The Golf Academy is open to pupils of all ages and abilities. Our Cadets Golf Programme is designed for pupils aged 5 to 8 who are new to golf, focusing on developing the fundamental skills and techniques of the game.

  • How do I sign up for individual music lessons?

Pupils have the opportunity to take individual music lessons with our dedicated specialist music teachers alongside the curriculum. Information about lesson registration and fees will be shared with families before the start of term.
