IBCP Pupils Raise Nearly £40,000 at Driving Opportunity Dinner

The St Leonards community came together in impressive numbers for the IBCP Driving Opportunity fundraising dinner, an evening led and delivered entirely by our Year 13 BTEC pupils.

30 January 2026

Pupils from the IBCP BTEC class hosted the event as part of their event management module, raising almost £40,000 on the night. Finlay, Martin, Ruby, Lewis, Jasper, Tobias, Bijan and Rachel planned and ran the largest IBCP event to date, supported by current parents, former parents, alumni and staff.

Guests enjoyed a three course dinner, raffle prizes and two live auctions. Lots included four balls at leading golf courses such as Blairgowrie and Kingsbarns, a signed Dunhill programme by Bob MacIntyre, and Phil Mickelson’s 2006 Masters-winning golf bag. Every pound raised will go towards developing an indoor golf facility on campus for use by the school and the wider St Andrews community.

The evening marked a significant achievement for the pupils and for the IBCP programme. A special thank you to Mrs Julianne Pennycook, Teacher of BTEC, for her guidance and support throughout the planning process.

This was the biggest IBCP-led event to date and a strong example of what pupils can deliver when given responsibility.
