St Leonards proudly welcomed pupils and staff from 13 high schools across Scotland on Monday, 1 December for its Pupil Leadership Conference.

Monday 1 December

The Pupil Leadership Conference, led by the St Leonards Pupil Leadership Team, is designed to inspire young people, strengthen connections, and encourage the sharing of ideas between schools.

Around 50 visiting pupils from both state and independent schools around Scotland came together for a full day of workshops, leadership discussions, and shared learning. Schools attending included Bell Baxter High School, Waid Academy, Madras College, Dundee High School, Glasgow Academy, Robert Gordon’s College, Kelvinside Academy, Strathallan, Hutchesons’ Grammar School, Lomond School, Fettes College, and Edinburgh Academy.

A highlight was a workshop led by Dr Eve Poole, an expert in leadership development. The conference provided a dynamic space for young leaders from diverse school backgrounds to work side by side, exchange ideas, and develop practical leadership skills. By bringing pupils from state and independent schools together, the event highlighted the power of partnership in broadening perspectives and strengthening educational experiences across Scotland.

St Leonards staff said the day underscored a shared commitment to nurturing confident, thoughtful young leaders equipped to make a positive impact in their schools and communities.

The school looks forward to continuing this spirit of engagement in future events, nurturing the next generation of leaders.
