World Book Week activities in the Junior School started with a visit from author Alison Caldwell on Monday, 26 February. She came along to tell the boys and girls in Years 4, 5 & 6 all about the process of making a picture book, using her own series, the 'Rory and Ruby Adventures' as an example. The books are set at Sandy Bay, which is inspired by the beautiful beaches of St Andrews!
The celebrations continued throughout the week, with author visits, book readings, puppet making and even ‘extreme weather reading’, which saw some of the boys and girls posing with their favourite novels in the snow!
The grand finale was the Character Parade on Thursday, 8 March. The boys and girls arrived at School sporting an array of absolutely fantastic costumes, inspired by characters from their favourite books. We had everyone from Fantastic Mr Fox to Willy Wonka, Cruella de Vil and Roald Dahl’s BFG!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s spectacular World Book Day celebrations such a success!
