St Leonards celebrated World Book Day 2023 in style this week, with costume parades inspired by favourite literary characters, author workshops, readathons, storytelling sessions and more.

In addition to all the fabulous fancy dress on show, one of the highlights was the compilation - led by Mr Iannone (Head of English) and Miss Tawse (Librarian) - of a super list entitled 100 Books to Read Before You Leave St Leonards.

Suggestions were sought from all members of our school community - pupils, staff and parents alike submitted their reading recommendations. The full list was published on World Book Day - Thursday, 2 March - and features authors from Charles Dickens to David Walliams, J.D. Salinger to Delia Owens. There was something to inspire all interests and we hope that this list, along with all our World Book Day celebrations, help to ignite and encourage a love for literature from around the world.
