This year, our Sports Days took a slightly different format, but thanks to the creativity and hard work of our dedicated PE Department, were still able to go ahead. For our Senior pupils, in place of our usual celebrations complete with spectators and locally-grown strawberries, the track and field events were held during timetabled Games lessons, everything from shot put to sprints and long jump to hurdles. The pupils competed with energy and enthusiasm, and great fun was had by all.
Our Junior pupils also enjoyed running, jumping, throwing, and cheering on their teammates at their bubble Sports Days. Years 1-3 enjoyed a number of different events including sprinting, egg and spoon, sack race, quoit on head, mini javelin, cricket ball throwing and long jump. The morning ended with a combined shuttle relay. In the afternoon, Years 4-6 took to the athletics field for relay races, hurdles, sprints, and longer distance track events, as well as long jump, javelin, cricket ball throwing, and shot put on the field.
Congratulations to all those who broke records this year, and to the winners of the events. To view photo galleries of the Sports Day events, as well as a list of the medal and cup winners, please click the links below.
