Our annual St Leonards Prizegiving in the Younger Hall on Friday, 22 June was a chance to celebrate our fantastic final year students, as they move into the next chapter: life beyond school.
The sun was shining as family and friends arrived in their smartest suits and summer dresses for the ceremony itself. Prize winners were announced, and the choir sang beautifully. Our guest speaker, Professor Ineke de Moortel, Professor in Applied Mathematics at the University of St Andrews, then gave a powerful speech, encouraging our leavers to look forward to everything the future holds.
The audience also heard speeches from our Head Girl Elizabeth Crockatt and Deputy Head Boy Ryan Millar, as they thanked the school, and shared their fond memories and highlights.
Delicious strawberry tarts awaited on the lawn and everyone thoroughly enjoyed an afternoon in the sun, catching up with old friends and sharing plans for the summer before heading off to get ready for the Leavers’ Ball at Fairmont St Andrews. A wonderful way for our Year 13 pupils to round off their time at St Leonards!
Congratulations to this year’s prize winners, and our sincere thanks goes to Professor de Moortel, the musical performers, and parents, families and friends who made the day so special!
