The pupils of Years 7-13 came together just before the October Half Term holiday for an afternoon of sports and games, with a competitive edge thanks to our four St Leonards Islands taking part in a series of activities for points.
As is tradition, St Leonards Day involved sports and games to celebrate our community spirit in style. All pupils represented their Islands - Mull, Harris, Lewis and Skye - dressed head-to-toe in their colours, using face paint, accessories and flags to support their team.
The action on the field included hockey, ultimate frisbee, touch rugby and football. With end-to-end play, the teams were closely matched. To determine the overall Island winner, pupils came forward for the ever popular inter-Island tug o’ war on Birdcage, set against the backdrop of Bishopshall and St Rule boarding houses. The shouts of support could be heard across the campus, and quite possibly beyond our mediaeval walls.
After a hard-fought but fun competition, the winning Island was announced as Lewis for its members’ exceptional skill out on the field.
