08.07.21 : Honey Harvest

We have been keeping the community abreast of news from the two St Leonards beehives since their arrival two years ago, and in the final week of Summer Term, the time had come to spin the very first St Leonards honey! Pupils joined Mrs Goodburn in the kitchens of Restaurant 1877 to learn how to gently remove the wax from the top of the honeycomb, before spinning the extractor to collect delicious honey.

There are now plans in motion for a Year 8 MYP Design competition within the Art Department next academic year, to create a winning label for the School's produce. We look forward to sharing more updates on our delicious homemade honey in due course!
