Pupils at St Leonards achieved a fantastic set of GCSE exam results this summer, far exceeding the national average.
An impressive 100% of the candidates achieved five or more GCSE grades of A*-C (9-4), compared to just 78.8% of papers achieving a pass (equivalent to a grade 4 or above) in this examination diet across the nation. The pupils’ solid performances across the sciences, languages, creative arts, and humanities stand them in good stead as they progress to the next chapter of their educational journey at St Leonards. Later this week, the pupils will commence either the International Baccalaureate Diploma or Career-related programme. These are rigorous and globally-recognised qualifications that require pupils to study subjects from a range of disciplines.
In addition, 58% of entries were graded 9/8/7, equivalent to an A*/A under the old marking system. Particular congratulations to Isla Thomson, David De Wolff, Francesca Farah, Martin Dandolov, Tilly Newey, and Zachariah Kunwar who all achieved eight or more 9/8/A* grades.
