It was a pleasure to welcome President of the Rotary Club of St Andrews, Gordon Wowk, to St Leonards on Monday, 18 June for a charity cheque presentation, following the school’s International Day celebrations.
A group of Year 12 Sixth Form students organised a non-uniform day during Spring Term for the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) element of their IB Diploma. Pupils raised a total of £362 for The Eyes of Africa Project, a sight-saving initiative formed by a team at the University of St Andrews.
Based in Malawi, it offers medical care and support to people with eye diseases. The provision of world-leading equipment as well as training will help to increase early diagnosis in patients, and prevent blindness.
