The children in Year 6 have been exploring the distribution of the Earth’s natural resources between people and countries. During this topic, they have been working in small groups to research an area of concern, including water access in Afghanistan, problems of drought in Madagascar, the energy crisis in Uzbekistan and the use of red diesel.
The pupils collated their research and confidently presented it at the St Leonards Climate Change (COP) Conference 2022. They were visited by their peers in Years 1 to 5 to raise awareness and explain the issues and impact they are having on people’s lives. The pupils also presented solutions to these areas of concern, and were tasked with persuading world leaders of the need for prompt action.
