The St Leonards Science Club team of Colin Christie, Jamie Langly, Kieran Smith, Sonika Jaiganesh, Lilly Li and Emily Challice won the Watts Watt Challenge on Friday at the Dundee Science Centre. They received a trophy and a cheque for £100.
The Flying Watt, the boy’s monorail train cruised steadily along doing all the set tasks, the Putt Putt boat took off well and raced away until they had to turn it round! Emily did very well with getting a high potential difference out of two apples.
The event was organised to celebrate 250 years since Scottish engineer James Watt made radical improvements to the steam engine and sparked the Industrial Revolution.
