Sixth Form students Lucie Galloway & Georgia McNaughton decided that their tutor group would help young children in Liberia as part of their IB CAS project (Creativity, Action and Service). Teaming up with Operation Christmas Child UK and Samaritan's Purse UK, they organised a Shoebox Appeal at the school, in order to help bring the excitement of Christmas into the lives of children who would not normally be able to celebrate it.
St Leonards boys and girls were asked to create small shoeboxes; decorated with festive paper and filled with toys and gifts to send to children in one of Africa’s poorest countries. Their target number was to receive 100 shoeboxes, but with the help of the Senior School and Junior School, the girls managed to collect 104!
Well done girls on a successful shoebox appeal!
