The St Leonards National Junior Golf Championship was held on Friday, 29 April on the Strathtyrum and The Balgove St Andrews links courses. Over 160 competitors from 18 different Scottish schools entered the annual competition, with ages of the pupils ranging from 6 – 12 years.
The children did well to battle out the adverse weather conditions and managed to go round the courses, accruing some excellent scores. The Balgove was home to the non-handicap flag competition course and the Strathtyrum was the handicap competition course. Both events were extremely competitive across the board and a variety of schools presented winners, including our very own Niamh Headon placing 2nd in the Under 13 Girls competition on the Strathtyrum.
