Generous students and staff filled an incredible 101 shoe boxes for the Blythswood Care Christmas Shoe Box Appeal this year!
Organised by a group of Year 12 students as part of the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) project strand of the IB Diploma Programme, the response to the appeal was overwhelmingly positive. Huge stacks of brightly-wrapped boxes were loaded into Miss Carroll's car to be dropped off with the charity.
The shoe boxes will be delivered to disadvantaged children, young people and adults in Eastern Europe and Pakistan as a means of providing them with essential everyday items, as well as small gifts.
Each box has been tailored to suit a specific age group and gender, and is filled with everything from toothbrushes and toiletries to hats, scarves and sweets to enjoy over the festive season.
A big thank you to everyone who made a donation to the 2017 appeal!
