Fintan Bonner, our Director of Golf, oversees the beginner, development and elite Golf Programmes at St Leonards, which include tailored coaching at the state-of-the-art St Andrews Links Golf Academy as well as access to specialist tracking equipment and some of the world's most famous Links courses. He specialises in coaching the school's elite golfers.

In addition to his role at St Leonards, Fintan is Senior Instructor at the St Andrews Links Golf Academy. Prior to taking up this position, he was a coach at Black Bush Golf Club in Ireland.

Fintan started playing golf at a young age, achieving a wide range of successes as an amateur. As a junior, he was selected to be a member of the Leinster Elite Panel and was chosen to represent his province in Ireland on numerous occasions.

At University College Dublin, Fintan achieved a Diploma in Sports Management and went on to graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Human Resource Management at National College of Ireland. He was awarded a golf scholarship at both universities and was a member of the winning team that clinched the Irish University Championship two years in a row.

From a coaching standpoint, Fintan is an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and a PGA Level 3 certified coach. He believes the roots of good coaching are grounded in the instructor's ability to communicate effectively with their student and create a successful learning environment.

As well as being a highly regarded instructor, Fintan is a Custom Fit Specialist, having trained with some of the top customisation experts in the world.

As Director of Golf at St Leonards, Fintan has achieved growth both in participation and performance, with many of our students participating in regular coaching and matches at all levels.
